The technical meeting of
the 6th leg of Women’s Grand Prix took place in the future playing
venue of the event. The Chief Arbiter Dr. Michael Shadarevian, the CEO of FIDE, Mr. Geoffrey Borg and the players discussed the regulations and the tournament
conditions of the Women Grand Prix.
Dr. Shadarevian drew the attention of the participants to the “no-draw offer” rule and "zero tolerance" rule which
require chess players to be seated at their boards when the games are scheduled
to start.
During the meeting GM Maia Chiburdanidze and GM Pia Cramling were elected as members of the appeal committee. The head of the appeal committee is
a former World Champion Nona Gaprindashvili. The technical adviser is GM Mohammed
Al-Sayed from Qatar.
